About this Cosplay
BASIC INFORMATION
Character: Sheena Fujibayashi Series: Tales of Symphonia Media: Playstation 3 Remaster Video Game (originally GameCube and Playstation 2 release), Anime Debut: NakaKon 2015 WHY I COSPLAY THIS CHARACTER Since I first played Tales of Symphonia as a child, I've admired Sheena's strong will, determination, and her ability to overcome her weaknesses and press forward. Plus, I am sucker for summoners! Cosplaying her was like a childhood dream-come-true for me. |
COSTUME CREATION DETAILS
Time Spent: Approximately 1 month off-and-on Wig: Epic Cosplay ~ A black full body suit was purchased and modified to remove the section covering the chest area. ~ Gloves, obi, robe, and spats were made entirely from scratch. ~ Glove pattern was made tracing my arm on paper and then expanding the area to account for the roundness in arms. It was made into fabric and adjusted as needed. The blue parts, to appear seamless, were put on using heat-and-bond. ~ The robe was made modifying a sewing pattern. It has interfacing inside the sleeves and the outer trim to help the sleeves stick out and stabilize the front. ~ Obi was patterned using paper. It was made with light interfacing inside of it and then stuffed with a light amount of stuffing to give depth. The bow is detachable using safety pins in the center and on each of the bow flaps. Bow has strong interfacing in it to keep it from sagging due to its large size. Red rope was hand sewn on, tips of rope tie were finished with clear nail polish to avoid fraying. ~ Spats were patterned over shoe using paper. Spats have a strong interfacing in them to help them keep shape. Buckles were made out of craft foam and blue details were heat-and-bonded on. Ribbon was sewn on for the white trim details. |
